History of Gurudwara Amb Sahib, Mohali
Once upon a time, a native of the Lambian Village, which is most famous for its mangoes, was a staunch and faithful devotee of the Fifth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. His name was Bhai Kuram Singh.

One day, he visited Amritsar travelling all the way from his village just to have a glimpse of the Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
When he reached there, darbar was going on. Everyone was paying gifts according to their status and capabilities. It was the season for mangoes and all those devotees who came to pay their respects to Guru Ji gave mangoes as offering to the Guru. These fruits were again distributed back to devotees.
Bhai Kuram Ji felt bad on his part that he being from the land of mangoes, could have also served Guru Sahib with Mango.
In the evening the darbar was closed and everybody was given Prasad of Mangoes, Bhai Sahib didn’t eat Mango. In the morning Bhai Sahib Presented the same Mango to GURU ARJAN DEV JI.
When the Guru noticed this, he questioned Kuram Singh as to why he offered the mango that he got as prasadam. Kuram Singh replied that since he had not got anything else to offer him, he decided to offer his Prasadam itself.
Then Guru Ji said that you can have this as Prasad, we understand your feelings and will take mangoes from you in our seventh life span.
Seventh Guru Sri Guru Har Rai ji came to this place from Kurukshetra in mid of December and asked Bhai Kuram ji for Mangoes.
Bhai Sahib politely said to Guru Ji that “in this season there are no Mangoes, so I am not able to present the Mangoes, but you are almighty you can do and get done whatever you want”.
Guru Ji asked Bhai Kuram that trees are loaded with Mangoes. Bhai Kuram when looked up that the tree where Guruji was standing under was full of mangoes. Then Bhai sahib layed down on the feets of Guru ji and served everyone with Mango in the month of December.

Even till date, this blessed tree can be found producing mangoes throughout the year at all seasons.
